Privacy Policy

The short version

Who Knows You Best? is built to be played, not to harvest your data. There is no sign-up, no email, and no advertising tracking. You pick a name and an emoji, and you play. This page explains exactly what that means.

Who we are

The app is published by HL Tech Solutions. When this policy says "we," "us," or "the app," it refers to HL Tech Solutions and the Who Knows You Best? iOS application.

What the game uses (and what stays on your device)

We do not collect or sell your personal data, and there is no account or sign-up. The game runs on your device. Here is what it uses and where it lives:

  • Display name and emoji. The name and emoji you pick stay on your device, and are shared only with the person you are playing with during a live game. They are not verified and need not be your real name.
  • Gameplay data. Your answers, guesses, and match scores stay on your device to run the game and build your result card.
  • Standard app diagnostics.Apple may provide aggregate, non-identifying crash and performance data to help us keep the app stable, under Apple's own privacy terms. We do not tie it to you.

We do not ask for your email, phone number, contacts, or precise location, and we run no advertising trackers.

How we use it

  • To run the game: show questions, compare answers, and calculate your match score.
  • To let you play live with someone else when you share a magic link.
  • To generate the shareable result card at the end of a game.
  • To diagnose crashes and improve performance and reliability.

We never sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising profiles.

Playing live with others

When you play a live game, the display name, emoji, answers, and scores needed for that game are shared with the other players in your game so it can work. Only share your magic link with people you trust.

Where your data lives

Gameplay data is stored on your device and, for live games, processed only as long as needed to run the match. We rely on Apple's platform services (such as App Store distribution and crash reporting) for standard app operation, governed by Apple's own privacy terms.

Data retention and deletion

Because there is no account, most of your data stays on your device. Deleting the app removes the local data it stored. If you have a specific request about data we may hold, contact us at the address below.

Children's privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Since we collect so little and tie nothing to an account, most data is already in your control on your device. For anything else, reach out and we will help.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will revise the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
